Cuautla

Cuautla is a city full of history. After the Spanish conquest, the lands of the natives were taken away to build sugar cane plantations and sugar mills. In the 16th century, Hacienda Casasano was built by Don Gordian Casasano, who exploited his land for the production of sugar. This is one of the few haciendas that survived the revolution that still continue their activity of sugar production. The hacienda has had several owners over the centuries including the government. In 2015, it was taken again as a private initiative where a great effort has been made for its conservation. Hacienda Casasano includes the old house (where the landowner lived), a wrought iron veranda that resembles the European gardens during El Virreinato, centenary trees and gardens, a church with rustic wooden benches, a pool with cocktail service and a beautiful big house where you will find the bridal suite. In the neighboring area, you can find hot springs, spas, water parks, museums, large nurseries, hotels and restaurants.
